Frequently asked questions

See Outschool Membership Terms for more details and requirements.

How do you accomodate different neurodivergent learning needs?

Our teachers are specially trained in neurodivergent-friendly methods including sensory breaks, visual schedules, clear expectations, and flexible participation styles. Classes are designed with executive function support and anxiety-reducing structures.

What if my child has a meltdown or needs to leave class early?

Our teachers understand that regulation challenges are part of learning. We offer re-entry support, alternative participation methods, and work with families to create individualized strategies. No judgment, only understanding.

Are classes really live, or are they recorded?

All classes are live and interactive, allowing for real-time connection and community building. Some sessions may be recorded for review, but the focus is on present-moment learning and social connection.

How small are the class sizes?

Most classes are capped at 6-8 learners to ensure individual attention and reduce overwhelm. This allows teachers to adapt their approach for each child's needs while maintaining the benefits of peer interaction.

What technical requirements do we need?

You'll need a computer or tablet with camera and microphone, stable internet connection, and a quiet space. We provide tech support and can help troubleshoot accessibility tools like screen readers or text-to-speech software.
