Teacher Payment for Outschool Learning Pass Subscription

Parents, on behalf of learners, will pay an annual or monthly fee for an Outschool Subscription Service.  Each month, approximately seventy (70%) of Outschool’s total subscription revenue is allocated to teacher payments and set aside in the Teacher Subscription Fund. In order for you to earn royalty payment from the Teacher Subscription Fund during a month (“Teacher Fund Payments”), you must comply with the Teacher Subscription Terms, Terms of Service, and any other governing documents. 

Teachers will be paid their percentage share of revenue (rounded to the nearest hundredth of a percentage point) from the Teacher Subscription Fund based on Total Points earned in a given month.

Method of Earning Points

One (1) point is earned per lesson accessed by the learner interacting with Your Subscription Content (each, a “Point”). We will take into account several factors tied to the learner who interacted with Your Subscription Content, which may include usage and engagement per learner.  

Calculation of Total Points and Earnings

When calculating the number of total points you’ve earned in a given month to determine earnings, we take all of your Points earned and multiply that number against your eligible Points Multiplier which is based on  your Teacher Status (see chart below) to receive your total points (“Total Points”). Your Total Points is then compared as a percentage against other eligible teachers and you will receive your proportional percentage share of the Teacher Subscription Fund for that calendar month (rounded down to the nearest whole Points value).

You may be eligible for a points multiplier based on your teacher status on the Outschool Platform at the start of each calendar month. If you have multiple statuses, the status with the highest multiplier will be the one used to determine your Total Points value:

An example for illustrative purposes only:

You earned 23 Points under the usage methodology in the month of July. Because you are an ACE-completed and Popular Teacher, your Total Points value for July is 26 (23 Points x 1.15, the highest of your corresponding multipliers). When comparing your 26 Total Points against other eligible teachers for payment in the month of July, your percentage share is 5.52%. Because the July Teacher Payment Fund is $16,324 and your percentage share is 5.52%, you will earn $901.08 before taxes.

Payment Cadence

Outschool will pay out the Teacher Fund Payments for a particular month on or around the 15th of the month following the time in which it is accrued. For new Teachers, Teacher Fund Payments begin the month following the month in which a Teacher publishes their first class on the Service (provided the conditions above are met).
