The reason I made this piece is my love for Pokemon and I wanted a challenge.

My drawing is titled “Time.” It shows a watch my father received from his father and later gave to me. The watch is special because it has been passed down through my family. It reminds me of the strong connection between my grandfather, my dad, and me. When I see it, I think about the special moments we have shared. The watch makes me feel proud and more mature, and it represents our family tradition and the memories we will carry for generations.

The candles feel like a big inspiration for me, and I love the contrast with the background. It makes it feel like fire and water, and how they are separate, but go well together. It is very big, vibrant, and bold, but simple at the same time.

I have always been fascinated by dinosaurs and could never wrap my mind around the fact that these creatures were Earth's first inhabitants. Although they are gone now, their presence is something recognized by all, even 65 million years later. As such, my picture shows a T-rex, the epitome of the dinosaurs. It captures the bold and fierce nature this creature once had, roaming through the jungle with an intimidating aura. This drawing reminds me to always be confident, no matter the challenge.

He takes after my real life cat, Catisse (right). For Snapnose, I went for a more realistic style, with larger eyes and almost human-ish eyebrows. For Catisse, I went less sketchy and more cat-like. The character pictured has fought their way up through an underground base, seeing the outside world for the first time after losing their memory from being in said base. What inspired me is the big tree outside my window. I look out at it on breezy nights and at dawn, and it makes me feel cozy. I love cats, so I added a big cat that the elf at the top of the tree (who is drinking the cup of tea and eating a leftover piece of chocolate cake) rides. I added fireflies because I love when there are nice warm nights and I can catch fireflies.
