TEFA funds may be used for approved online educational courses, tutoring services, and supplemental learning programs through providers listed in the Odyssey marketplace.
Odyssey is the online platform families will use to manage their TEFA funds throughout the school year. Your Odyssey wallet is where your approved funds will be deposited, and the Odyssey marketplace is where families can browse and purchase approved educational services and resources.
The marketplace includes TEFA-approved private schools, therapy providers, online learning programs, tutoring services, curriculum, and other eligible educational expenses.
To use TEFA funds for approved educational purchases, transactions must be made through your Odyssey wallet for approved marketplace vendors.
Homeschool families receiving the $2,000 allowance may choose to direct their funds toward enrichment classes, tutoring, or supplemental instruction. Families using private school tuition funding may also use remaining TEFA funds for additional educational support, such as electives, academic tutoring, or specialized learning programs not offered through their child's school.

Online learning programs can vary widely in teaching style, schedule, and structure. Some providers offer live, interactive classes with real-time instruction, while others focus on self-paced learning that kids complete independently on their own schedule.
Families may also choose one-on-one tutoring or supplemental programs designed to support specific academic goals or learning needs.
As you explore approved TEFA providers in the Odyssey marketplace, think about what type of learning experience works best for your child and your family's routine. Some families may prefer live instruction and group interaction, while others may benefit from flexible, self-paced programs that kids can complete independently throughout the week.
You may also want to consider subject offerings, ease of use, academic support, and whether the platform aligns with your child's learning style and goals.
Private tutoring is an approved TEFA expense when services are provided through an approved Odyssey marketplace vendor. Families may choose tutoring for academic support, enrichment, test preparation, or individualized instruction in specific subjects.
Be sure to save your Odyssey purchase confirmations and keep simple session records for your own documentation.
Outschool is an approved TEFA provider offering online classes, tutoring, and enrichment opportunities for K–12 kids across a wide range of academic subjects and interest areas. Families can browse available TEFA-eligible classes.
To use TEFA funds for Outschool classes, log into your Odyssey wallet, search for “Outschool” in the marketplace, and select the amount you’d like to transfer. Funds will typically appear in your Outschool account within three business days. From there, you can browse classes and complete your kid’s enrollment directly through Outschool.
