I love the original and retro style animations. I wanted to create my favourite character in that style.

Hi my name is Gwen, I really love to draw. I enjoy video games and hanging out with my friends. I was inspired by a video on YouTube that presented a beautiful painting of a forest with butterflies. It looked magical and gave me butterflies. The picture I created made me think, I did put a lot of what I was feeling into it. I don't know if you can see my sadness, but I felt better afterwards.

Catalina is a homeschooler who found a passion for art after sustaining a traumatic brain injury. She loves Outschool because it allows her to focus on learning in ways that work for her... through music, art, movement, community, discussion, and relationships. She has been learning mixed-media in her Outschool classes, and this work is a mix of color pencils and learning how to use an embossing technique. She also lives at an animal sanctuary and loves to include animals in her art.

I love to make different art work. I have dyslexia, and art helps me express myself or my thoughts with no words. I painted this because teachers forget that even though I struggle with my writing, I do know how to express myself. People who are different feel lost in the shadows. My artwork makes me feel happy because I know that in the end I am bright. That is why I draw my star, and my face.

Hello, my name is Aiden. My inspiration is about positivity overcoming negativity. My story lead to tough times in my life, and leading to negativity consuming me. I was drowning in it. I needed help, and I did get help. I was able to be free from the chains that held me tight. It may leave you with a scar, but what shapes you into what you are now, and I have some. I thank God for being there for me, and everyone else. Hear my message: positivity will defeat negativity, let it shine in you.

I drew this artwork as a reminder of both downtown Charleston, SC & downtown Augusta, GA. Downtown Charleston has the cobblestone streets and a candy store by the market I would go to buy candy from with my family. The dress I drew in the window reminds me of an alteration shop in downtown Augusta I once visited and saw a beautiful dress in the window of the store. Both places make me feel nice and sweet because I've had great experiences at those places and loved putting them into my artwork.

Hi! My name is Keegan. I love to read, write, and draw, and I thought that as a artist it would be fun to submit one of my drawings in this contest. The one I chose is a picture of the main character of a book I'm going to write, Dawn, climbing out of an underground city that was not treating her well. I think it is inspiring of her to do that, instead of just staying there. Thank you for reading about my drawing!

I've always loved art as a way to express myself. This picture has different layers and is a bit mysterious. It was inspired by the fact that people, like myself and my friends, are always changing and growing on the inside and out. Growth is not always perfect or beautiful but it matters and it must be embraced. Art is helpful to me as a way to say what I can't put into words.

I want to be an astronomer when I grow up. I love learning about space, stars, and planets. How fun it would be if I could travel to space, visit other planets, and see the stars up close! I want to organize space tours for fellow galactic travelers so that we can all enjoy the beauty and wonder of space together.

My dog inspired me to make this drawing. She is very cute and fuzzy but I love her personality best. She is very energetic and sweet. I also love watching her sleep. I made the art piece using pencils. The pencils I used were 2B, 4B and 6B. This was the first time I’ve used different pencil grades. Some of the trials I’ve had with this drawing were getting the shapes right and getting the lines straight. But the biggest struggle I had was getting the lines light enough.

Yes, I got pooped on by a bald eagle. It was an experience. And, I have this picture in my room to always remind me of it. It reminds me of how good, or bad, luck I got. I think it's bad, personally, but many others think it's good. I don't know, very weird story.

“The Greek God” artwork is a…well an artwork of Eros the Greek god of love, people know him now as Cupid. Plus I am also a fan of Percy Jackson and my love for Greek mythology and Percy Jackson inspired this artwork (I also made this word near Valentine’s Day) I hope my artwork is accepted and appreciated. =)

I've had a passion for art from a young age, and I want to prove to myself how far I've come. I used the impasto technique to really bring the subject off the canvas. I wanted to create a sense of movement with the strokes of the paint fanning out from the wings and adding texture to the scales. I wanted this to feel like you could pluck it straight out of the canvas. I made shape of the flowers and the background more suggestive, blurry; trying to create a depth that pushes the moth forward.

I am a 12 year middle school student. This piece gave me peaceful. It represents life's journey doesn't have to be challenge, it can be moving forward with ease, clam and purpose.

Hi, I'm Jackson and I love everything jets. The F-35A inspired me to draw this because it is my favorite jet and I think it's absolutely beautiful. When I saw the F-35A at an airshow. I was so excited that I almost started crying. I love the F-35A so much because it's just beautiful from all angles no matter what.

I live in Alaska I love animals, horses are my favorite animal. I have 2 pet parakeets, 2 pet cats, and 3 pet goats. I painted this piece in my watercolor class. I have never been very confident in drawing/painting people, this is one of the first paintings I have done of a person and I am very proud of how it turned out.

I love Wings of Fire and wanted to create an original character based on the books to use in my own story. Magnolia is a dragon who got her leg cut off in the war and has to juggle both school and running her kingdom. She also has a pet lemur, named Sage, and sisters she has to care for since her parents died. Magnolia is strong and fierce and perseveres through hard challenges and also asks for help when she needs it and I want to be like her (minus the losing limbs and parents bit :) ).

Hi my name is Valentina and I love drawing and sewing.I also love bows and bedazzling things so I had to put it in my art piece!! I was inspired by my fashion design class. We did runway fashion this week. It makes me feel happy and joyful!! I hope you love it.🩷🎀

My piece depicts a spring morning, with blossoming flowers and dancing butterflies. The bees daintily fly from flower to flower, foraging for pollen. I love the season of spring. because it's like a stage for renewal and hope. To start fresh as buds bloom. And nature has always been one of my biggest inspirations. It hurts me to see the earth being damaged. I hope we can come together and save it. "You are never too small to make a difference."- Greta Thunberg.
Hi my name is Mizla and im 10yo, I started to do Lego stop motion and claymation a couple months ago on an outschool class (I inspired my little brother Mizra to participate as well), I saw the contest and I though to do a Lego stop motion movie, I like animal crossing, so I decided to do a Lego stop motion animal crossing. Thank you

This piece was inspired by the Greek myth of Persephone and Hades. It depicts a young Persephone, before she meets the king of the underworld. This is one of my favorite Greek myths, and I even wrote a song about it! I think this is one of my best pieces yet, and hope you like it!
When I was younger I didn’t like any sports to play in my free time. Then I discovered my passion. Drawing. Soon I later learned that the pen and paper was my power. Every artwork I make makes me feel proud and want to continue my art journey. From what began as a stickman evolved into an artwork that made people happy. :)

Hi! I'm Eleanor. This piece of art was inspired by my little sisters because they like to be adventurous and I feel like one can be the sunshine and one can be the water in the ocean. It makes me feel happy because I feel like the sun represents hope and love, and the water symbolizes freedom and movement like my little sisters. I hope it makes other people feel happy too because I feel like the art stands for friendship because there's two people hanging out together, and anything is possible.

Howdy! I created my Barnside Blooms piece with air dry clay and old wood from a barn. Making this made me excited because I took some of my favorite flowers I see by my cow barn and sculpted them to last a lifetime. I was inspired by spring time and wanting to have flowers that are vibrant year round.

I'm Meleana. I've always liked drawing and creating digital art that feels a little different, something that invites you to look twice. The piece came to me in a dream, almost like a quiet moment I didn't want to forget. When I woke up I knew I had to bring it to life. I call it "Where the Dreams Are."

My name is Stella; my Outschool teacher Mrs. Roxy referred me to participate in this showcase. This art was inspired by a favorite character of mine from a show I like. This piece was created using, colored pencils, ink, and markers. I feel happy and proud when I look at it!

I like to look at old houses and think about the people who have lived in them. It makes me sad to see old houses be demolished. It seems not many people care. I wish I could save all the old houses; thats why drew this old house in the yard it was meant to be in. I hope that you enjoy thinking about who lived in this house. for my drawing I used: acrylic paint, oil pastel, and colored pencil. It took me 4 weeks to complete-i made the house bent and uneven to make it look old but cozy.

My name is Joslyn I've always loved art and trying different art forms or drawing styles, I also really love indie horror games like Mucorales or Pumpkin panic. I wanted to give my piece a more eerie or melancholic vibe which is why I used darker colors for it. I was inspired by how unicorns were originally depicted in stuff like The last unicorn and how the unicorns look slimmer, and just look more majestic when their less bulky and horse-like. I'm very proud of my piece and i hope you like it.

When I see a beautiful night sky, it inspires my creativity. I love doing digital art and the stars twinkling in the sky feels magical to me.

This artwork was created by Angeliki with the guidance of her art teacher, Ms. Z, when she was 9 years old. She loves water and exploring nature. This picture makes her feel happy and also gives her a sense of tranquility. She likes it a lot because she hopes to be in a real situation like this one day.

Hello, my name is Eunice. I’m eleven years old. I painted this using watercolor. I painted this because it showed a great amount of vitality and contrast. The word I thought would match this painting was “reflect”. “Reflect” because the afternoon sun reflects off of the cool water. “Reflect” because you are looking back to a day and reflecting the light, the good, out of it.

Drawing can capture every element, emotion, and feeling that cannot be expressed by words. This piece was inspired by space, which I find both mysterious and exciting. This painting gives me the excitement of exploring new worlds, and I like to think about what exists beyond Earth. It makes me ecstatic and hopeful, and the dreams that begin in our imagination can truly become our future. Do you ever wonder about what exists apart from what our very own eyes can see?

Hello! I love creating digital art on my iPad. I specifically love drawing people and or animals. What inspired my piece was lotus flowers, which you can find on the outside of the drawing. They're one of my favourite flowers, and I love drawing them. I wanted to create an art piece where I could draw a whole bunch of them! I love how colorful the drawing is; it makes me feel happy. I just love looking at it!

For my art piece I tried to make a character as creative as possible. I added features like a cool ring eye and I went for a manga style look. I made this piece look unbalanced and gave it quirky details that I liked. Voin is supposed to be a malfunction or a weird human but he ended up being a really awesome soccer player that's really nice (and funny) :)

My English name is Murphy I play baseball and is a big fan of dodgers. Once I watched “Interstellar” I am interested in planets so I create this to show how small humans and civilizations are to the universe. this makes me feel joyful because I love to express my feeling to others this artwork gives me a feeling of awe.

I love drawing even if i'm not great at it. This ballerina is imagining herself on stage dancing for an audience and she's expressing herself with dance. I was in a art class when my teacher said dancers are what we will be drawing and i chose her because of my very own love for dance.

I love animals, especially wolves and baby wolf pups. Wolves are my favorite because they are part of the dog family, and I love dogs. I was inspired to draw this because wolves are strong and protective. They take care of their families and keep each other safe. In my picture, the wolf lives in the mountains like a guardian watching over its home. This makes me feel happy because the wolf is peaceful and free and doing what it loves in nature.

Ms. Amy inspires us to draw landmarks from all over the world. This week we sketched the Alhambra gateway in Spain, in under 40 minutes. She teaches us techniques to be efficient and draw in our own style. This is my favorite after-school activity. I look forward to it every week!

Hello! My name's Sybil, and I make a bunch of OCs when I'm bored! I played a game called Cookie Run: Kingdom, and there were two new costumes that were in the game which was a playwright and actor. I got inspired by it, and drew some costumes for my two OCs - Pluvia and Tempestade (Tempestade is male). I always got a feeling of calmness and solemness when i look at the art. It does feel relaxing, like a calm dance.

Hello! This is my entry for the art contest. It took me about… 4-6 hours? I made the setting during sundown, because i thought it looked better compared to the lighting during day/night. The girl in the middle is one of my characters that I’ve been drawing for 2 years. I wanted to highlight her while the other people blend into the background. The ideas just been sitting in my mind for a while but i never got the chance to draw it until now!

My name is Wolf and for the last few months I’ve been learning how to draw more realism art. When I was able to capture the style that I enjoyed, I transferred it digitally. This piece represents my growth as an artist. A long time ago, if you asked me to draw something realistic, I would have said no. Now I challenge myself and embrace new styles.

I am an artist of both the martial and drawing kind. I especially love to draw animals, because they are both cute and fierce, like me! My inspiration flows like water. On my phoenix, I like how the tail looks like flowing water. It makes me feel very peaceful and calm when I look at it. It also looks fearless, which is why I named it "The Fearless Phoenix".
